Who I Am and What I Do

I’m a Registered Nurse, I discovered Reiki, a few years ago when RN's were offered Reiki classes for continuing education to maintain their RN license.  I received my Reiki Level 1 Degree and Reiki Level 2 Degree which is required to be a practitioner.

I’ve been an RN for 35 years in a variety of positions including oncology, hospice, home health and case management where I assisted patients with catastrophic illness.

Hospice, is where my heart is.  It’s a difficult time for family and friends when their loved one is dying.  Often the family avoids talking during the final hours and the room is silent.   Most of us struggle during this time, losing a loved one is difficult, painful and fearful.   I have found a benefit in comforting the patient and family during the dying process to help ease the stress and the unknown.   With the Reiki education, I have found a valuable modality to help the hospice patient through the dying process with the power of touch.  Our society education and dealing with dying is minimal.  Touching and giving Reiki communicates caring and connection without finding the words to express feelings.
